I wish Nickelodeon would monitor that kind of stuff better. It's the official SpongeBob account; there's really no excuse for comments like that to stay on the page. The comment section for SpongeBob Twitter account is a mess. It's either full of porn art (disgusting) or people who refuses to even give seasons 4+ a chance.
Also, today marks 5 years since the post-sequel started. While I have mixed feelings on it, I'm glad the artists and animators are able to put effort in the show instead of reusing seasons 6-8's stiff style.
Good. Then they’re gonna have to reconsider a US theatrical release for the film, especially since the recent AMC/Universal deal was made. This pretty much renders a US digital release obsolete.
That may change in the coming days/weeks/months, depending on how things go, in my opinion. The movie is still going to be released digitally in the US.
It is possible that he’s only saying that based on the current situation; he wasn’t even involved that much with movie’s production, so I don’t know if he would know behind the scenes discussions based on distribution and all that.Vincent Waller has pretty much confirmed on Twitter that it's pretty much only releasing digitally in the US during early 2021.
We know that already, but, like what @wammyguide said, given the AMC-Universal deal, and the possibility that theatrical windows for future films might shorten depending on if unsuccessful or successful, that might change.ViacomCBS confirmed during their earnings call yesterday that Sponge On The Run will release on premium VOD in early 2021, followed by a exclusive move to CBS All Access.
