Finally found them!
So years ago - late in Bonkers' stay on The Disney Afternoon - an episode aired with a completely different, two minute intro featuring a much longer version of the song set to different clips. It aired once and only once and never aired ever again. I've never again seen the actual intro but I have finally found the lyrics...
Once upon a time in Toontown, there was a cat that had it all:

Now he makes a living downtown, walking to a brand-new beat,
Slippin' through the new day, trippin' on a two-way ticket down a one-way street.
