Yay, the show is back! Alright Spear, I don't think you'll be able to swim to save her.

"Mira."
And evolution marches on.

You were honestly expecting to swim all that way?

Might want something sharper than a mallet.
...okay, Fang, not what I was thinking, but effective just the same.

See, Fang, not so bad once you get the hang of it.

A long shot reveals they're only about a hundred feet from the shore.

If I see any shrill-voiced sponges with nets, I'm changing the channel.

Don't worry, you can't starve to death. This is just the season premiere.

Suddenly we have a bunch of Muppet pirates singing about having cabin fever.

Gamera is really neat, he is filled with turtle meat, we are eating Gamera.

Okay, some aspects of this trip we REALLY don't need to know about.

Are T-rexes known for swimming?

Hey, you made it! ...at least one of you did.

Uhhh, that's probably not him.

Did ya eva has tha feelin' ya was bein' watched?

Oh, there you are.

Get that squirrel out of here before the network decides to put him on a Happy Meal box.

Aww, they're sharing.

It's so hard being the new kid in town.

How did Spear end up on the set of Braveheart?

Having dialogue on this show is weirding me out.

Go drunk, Fang, you're home.

You may not like the medicine, but it's the only way you're gonna get better.

Am I sensing love among the dinosaurs?

Okay...something's gotta happen here.
Seriously, this is WAY too pleasant.

Awk-warrrrrrrd.

Yep, there it is.

If only we knew what that meant.

Forgot these were on last night, but I just saw them on HBO Max.

Anywho, Yay! Season 2 is finally here! I wonder what silly wacky adventures Spear and Fang will get into this season.

Primal, Season 2: The Quest for Poon Mira.

Episode 1: Sea of Despair or Life of Spear

Yeah, yeah, I saw all this from the preview.

It sounded like he said "Bira".

How did Fang think of a raft before Spear did?

Oh, and now she doesn't even want to get on it?

This is a long trip for someone with nothing to eviscerate.

Oh sure, let Spear do all the work.

Tonight we dine on turtle soup......or meat anyway.

There's always a bigger fish....or bird.

Mega-WHOA!-don.

Alone again, naturally

Episode 2: Shadow of Fate or Fang and the Tramp

"Yep, I knew this trip was a bad idea. I told him to ask for directions, but noooo..."

Ah, they must be the welcoming committee.

Looks like Fang is gonna get some action too.

Let me guess, they slurp up its small intestines and it ends with a kiss.

Hey, relax Spear, they were just trying to give you a spa treatment.

Uh-oh, it's the army from Braveheart. Watch out, they'll moon you to death.

Yes, water is good. Water is our friend.

Oh boy, this is how one-night stands happen.

Ah, the miracle of modern medicine.

Remember kids, brush after every meal.

Oh, what are the odds?

Okay, Fang I know this is a lot, but pick a side and stick with it.

This is soap opera-level drama right here.

Welp, that's gonna hurt in the morning.

Why, Fang? Why do we always hurt the ones we love? WHYYYYYYY?!!!

Felt bad for the turtle but damn that Megalodon fight was intense!

Huhn, so they washed up on ancient Scotland? Guess they must be close as that clan had tattoos but nothing like the Scorpion slavers' ones I think. I'm sure fans are working on translating what the clan leader is saying, lol.

Poop magic. Yeesh.

Poor Fang though.

Sea of Despair: Starts off where the first season ended. A great way to start the season and see how these two survive on a boat. Loved the fight between them and the turtle and the Megalodon. Nice use of shell too.

Shadow of Fate: We get to see Spear and Fang separated and socializing with the locals. I like how Fang and the other Rex got along and even got drunk. It seems Spear get to meet caveman from Scotland? Can't blame Spear for freaking out with meeting a face like that. It was cute with Spear accidently scaring the little girl, and his meeting with the dog.
Shame with how the two met up with Fang's new friend causing trouble and ended up being aggressive towards Spear and Spear being aggressive back, leaving poor Fang trying to stop the fight, and in the end tragically killing her new friend by accident.

Both episodes were great, it's as simple as that.

*Trouble logging on*

Happy Shark Week.

Speaking of the ocean...

No commercial breaks? Oh, that was one for Primal.

Turtle soup tonight?

Did he end up on the set of Braveheart?

Well this is (WAY beyond) awkward.

What we've got here is failure to communicate.

Genndy Tartakovsy's Primal "Sea Of Despair"

I did not care for last season at all but I kind of liked this season's premiere. Much of the life and death struggle didn't have to do with predators and prey, which has gotten exhausting. By the second half of the episode, things had sort of returned to form, but I liked the sea voyage because it was relatively quiet.

It was also stupid. What was Spear thinking? He barely packed any food or provisions for Fang, and it's just good luck that Fang doesn't ever ponder eating him, even though he probably should have at several points. This IS all Spear's fault after all.

The whales were significant to me and I hope a harbinger for the rest of the season. They were the first living things we've seen that either didn't try to kill Spear and Fang, or that Spear and Fang didn't try to kill themselves. That specific thing was the biggest thing that troubled me about Season 1 so it was nice to break that curse right out of the gate.

I liked it better than most of last season. ****.

Genndy Tartakovsy's Primal "Shadow Of Fate"

Curiouser and curiouser. We don't see too many people on the show and we just saw a lot of them.

Surprisingly emotionally messy episode. This show's lines are usually so clear-cut, but no matter how cute the red T-Rex is with Fang, he's still a monster.

Them tripping out on pyschedelic apples and then playing in the leaves was a gas though.

Suffice it to say, medicine was no great shakes back then. Yikes.

In the end Fang chose Spear. It's an interesting choice, but both she and Spear learned some harsh things about each other. They can be friends, but as long as they are, neither will be welcome in their respective tribes. And that's a bit sad.

I wonder if Fang could have ever been able to forgive Spear if HE had killed the red T-Rex himself. I'm glad we didn't have to find out.

Good ep. ****.
