  • I just thought about something. If Adventure Time: Fionna and Cake were to air on cable TV, would it air on Cartoon Network or Adult Swim? I say this because the original Adventure Time is currently airing on CN, but Fionna and Cake seems more mature than the original series.

Adult Swim, not only because it's more mature but they don't give a flying F about CN

If Superman counts as AS now, Fiona and Cake would count too. And as for the reruns of the original, they’d probably move them to Adult Swim like they did in 2019

So now that MeTV Toons exists, what is the future of Boomerang? I say this because MeTV Toons will obviously be getting the WB/MGM/HB cartoons. And as for the classic CN shows, they're on Checkered Past. Even stuff like The Looney Tunes Show, The Tom and Jerry Show, and Scooby-Doo and Guess Who? have been airing frequently on CN recently. So what exactly does that leave Boomerang with? Nothing much really.

They’ll probably continue to run on autopilot as usual. Nothing changes really.

As of this post, CKP is down to only two shows. Its' future is just as up in the air.

Regarding MeTV Toons, do you think one day that they’ll start airing shows from the 2010’s? Stuff like The Looney Tunes Show or Scooby-Doo! Mystery Incorporated?

No. They are relatively recent to be on MeTV Toons. Maybe years and years and years down the road. But right now? No.

Those are better suited for Cartoon Network and Boomerang for the time being.

That's what I was referring to. I meant like, say, 10 years from now.

Yeah, for 10-15 years from now, maybe.

But then again, I would prefer MeTV Toons just stay as a classic cartoon channel anyway.
I just thought about something. Let's say, hypothetically, Adult Swim cancels Checkered Past. What do you think would happen to the classic CN shows on the block?
Just learned that GAMESTOP and FRED MEYER are now going to be selling DVDs, Blu-rays, and even 4K UHD Blu-rays. This comes in the wake of Best Buy removing ALL DVDs and Blu-rays, as well as Target and FYE shrinking down their offerings.

So I’ve just learned that Warner Bros. now finally has a FAST channel dedicated to their animated content. The only thing is that they (so far) are only showing Silverhawks and the Mr. T cartoon.
The fact that Max basically knew they had new episodes of Jellystone and Tiny Toons Looniversity premiering, but did virtually nothing to promote them kinda makes me concerned for how animation will be handled at Max going forward.

I don't get it. Did these people at Max expect Jellystone and Looniversity to have big numbers despite their trash marketing? Shows don't promote themselves, especially it's not the cast and crew's job to promote the shows for them. I mean, they don't have to do it, but they need to because companies like WB are too damn lazy to promote themselves.
You know, I have to wonder something. What exactly is the future of MLP G5? How much longer is it gonna last? I mean, G4 lasted an impressive 9 years! That’s the longest run a Hasbro show has ever had! But the real reason why I’m thinking about this is because I’ve seen G5 toys popping up at Closeout stores like Ollie’s.

I haven't kept up with G5 in a while. Even though I do like A New Generation film a couple of years ago, but I never seen Tell Your Tale or Make Your Mark, so I have no idea (though I heard some mixed things about them).

TBH, I don't know what the future holds for MLP G5, so only time will tell.

Also, I'm just gonna say this, and I know I'm in the minority, but I'm not a big fan of G5 continuing G4's continuity, even if just lightyears away from the future.

I'd rather have G5 be its own thing that wasn't connected to G4, because I don't want to stick with the same universe with new characters that weren't as impactful compared to the previous generation.

There's not a whole lot of toys out there. Last time I was at Target, I almost missed them because there were so little. I also saw them in the clearance section at Dollar General and not the regular toy aisle. It doesn't sound like the toys have much of a future. I don't know what's going on with the show, haven't kept up with it, but that's not a good sign for it.

I find it funny that Checkered Past has been successful while NickRewind was destroyed and outright cancelled by Nickelodeon. It’s like a complete reversal from how things were in the 2010’s

Despite the fact that NickRewind aired on a high-tier cable channel that nobody even had, while Checkered Past came out where their own network was on basic cable, but hey! Life can be funny sometimes.
