I won't be surprised if they can get gordon ramsay to voice these characters, I mean they look like gordon ramsay

I want more kids shows on Adult Swim because this looks AWFUL.
last night I had a dream that Adult Swim took 6-8 AM

Their show of choice to air during those hours? The Dreamstone, a british abstract-furry-led kids cartoon from the 90s scored by the London Philharmonic that has a two-part pilot that's an epic fantasy like Lord of the Rings, then the remaining 50 episodes are Sylvester and Tweety style chase antics. I am not even kidding.

And yes, The Dreamstone is a real show.
With the disaster that the Boston bomb scare caused for Cartoon Network, Williams Street (whose Aqua Teen movie was being promoted by the Lite Brites caused by the bomb scare) seemed to get off Scot free. Sometimes I wonder what would happen if that weren’t the case.

If that weren’t the case, then Jim Samples will still be around today. Whatever Samples’ plans in 2007 is better or worse than Stu Snyder will remains to be seen.

Had the Boston bomb scare never happened, PPGZ would receive a dub with the original voice cast of the 1998 show.

@Vuxovich How you know about PPGZ is going to air on Cartoon Network if it wasn't for 2007 Boston bomb scare? Cartoon Network didn't kill Toonami until 2008, so English dubbed of show would air in late 2006 or early 2007. They planned in advance. That's more of anecdote or uncertain at best.

Spectrum should have never gotten rid of FXX. Maybe then Adult Swim would have faced actual competition, and maybe even faced consequences for their increasingly stupid decisions.

Remember when FXX was beating AS in 2022? Good times

It was Disney's pressure on Spectrum to drop FXX and several other channels as exchange for free ads supported Disney+ to all subscribers.

When cable TV declines further, Disney don't care about cable channels anymore, and it is unlikely for FXX to aid with competition in long run.

It's more Disney had to listen to their true bosses, the NFL, whom they've bent backwards for before many times, NFL wanted Monday Night Football on the air in New York on the night of the Jets and the big Aaron Rogers starting for the Jets (oops). They had to cut something to get Spectrum to get NFL on TV by the night. Could have just lowered the price, but ok then.

But At Least Spectrum Signed a deal with Paramount before their channels were taken off their system
I’ve come to a realization. With Superman, Unicorn, Checkered Past, and now Invincible Fight Girl, Adult Swim is straying away from their mission of being adult-only animation, one that’s even in their NAME, to get more advertisers.

The exact reason why CN Real existed.

well, go blame the amounts of teen titans go reruns for giving adult swim a boost

To be fair, it’s not TTG’s fault, but I do agree that the schedule surrounding TTG is what killed CN for a lot of people.

I don't get it. I have no problem with it. Not sure what you mean by Adult-Only animation. Adults (and teens) have watched shows that were targeted younger for years. Gravity Falls, for example. It's good this company figured out that and if they want to market towards adults then do it, if it gets money to keep shows from dying. Good. Called Adult Swim, yeah adults can also enjoy My Adventures with Superman.

Hot take: Michael Ouwleen is just as bad a CN president as Christina Miller was, if not worse

TBF, Ouweleen isn't the reason for why things are going the way they are on Cartoon Network. He's actually been trying to keep the network afloat with Zaslav currently making a mess of the company. It'd be the same problem even if we had a different person running Cartoon Network.Plus, we do have better variety on the schedule than the Miller era & the Checkered Past block & Teen Titans Go isn't being spammed anymore.

@Stumpos You're right it's not Ouweleen's fault that WBD has been such a mess right now, but it is his responsibility for feeding Adult Swim up on a silver platter, leaving CN starving to death.
been thinking about those moves and additions adult swim made recently (getting superman, unicorn, checkered past, an aqua teen revival, and 5-8 pm). The character limit will choke me but I have a whole theory that this was all a way to better compete with FXX when their existing major shows had either switched sides or were in jeopardy
Story Television - Announced Feb 14 2022 (2nd Monday), launched March 28 (last Monday)

Catchy Comedy - Announced Feb 13 2023 (2nd Monday), launched March 27 (last Monday)

Toony TV prediction - Announcing Feb 12 2024 (2nd Monday), launching March 25 (last Monday)

If Weigel were to announce Toony TV becoming a channel, this upcoming Monday would be the time to do it.

If it becomes reality, I'm wonder about Frndly and Philo would add it soon after launch or wait more than a year like they did with MeTV+.

I do know Weigel owned stations are definitely carry it but I'm wonder about non-Weigel stations.

AOSTH at least has no delusions or pretentions about what it is. SatAM along with a ton of other Sonic media expects me to take a blue cartoon rodent with Mickey Mouse gloves and red sneakers very, very seriously. Sonic needs to figure out its tone.

I’m okay with taking Sonic SOMEWHAT seriously, though not SUPER seriously. Action-comedy is what I’m aiming for.

The Sonic fan base deserved Shadow the Hedgehog (aka Ow the Edge) for hyping up how dark and intense SatAM was.

hot take: i like the DiC mario cartoons, especially super show. Not exactly accurate or even good, but man, are they fun.
I think given their perphiary demographic and the fact that kids aren't really watching cable anymore, I think CN should shift gears to the young adult market- but NOT by pandering to nostalgia and giving everything to Adult Swim.
hot take: since i’m hyperfixating on syfy’s early history at the moment, i should let you know that i don’t hate the syfy name and understand the reasoning behind it. you can’t simply trademark “sci fi”, but you can trademark “syfy” and keep the name recognition by having it pronounced the same.

Inside Out 2 is gonna be doing huge box office numbers.

Here's adult animation category ballot for Emmy Awards 2024. I'm hoping that Praise Petey will get in the final line-up.

I don't know where to post this...
but Alvin and the Chipmunks movie is in development of Disney.

I guess Nick is officially done with this franchise for now.
Happy 20th Birthday to the Cartoon Network City Era!
