Hi, I am Cosmo! I have been a CRAZY ACTIVE lurker on these forums since mid 2015. I mainly lurk in the Cartoon Network/Boomerang forums as Cartoon Network and Boomerang are where my main television interests are currently at. I made this account finally after about a year of lurking but I continued to lurk on here until now. I am finally going to share my interest in television and animation with the public on this forum. I love animation and I love TV branding. You will mostly find me in the CN/Boom sub-forum. I will be in the Nickelodeon one as well sometimes to mainly keep up with branding, The Splat, and renewals/cancellations. Thanks for reading this if you did and I can't wait to take part in this amazing community!

Where the pretty art is
Hey people,

I'm Emil, co-founder of Craft, a new platform that collaborates with high-quality productions in animation, comic books, live action, VR and games to share their creative process. We basically take all their production material and showcase it. Since they rarely have the time or resources to do that themselves. Which is a shame, there's so much nice stuff produced :) It costs $6/month to access more than 90.000 pieces and new projects coming live each week. 50% goes back to support the creators.

I'm here on Toonzone to spread the word, learn what you guys want to see, how you want to see it etc. so we can create an increasingly better experience.

And you can help us out by replying here or drop me a line at the site.

Looking forward to talk!

Hi!
So, I'm not new here, really, but this is the first thing I've posted to these forums since 2008, which is internet ancient history.
I'm a college professor of studio art, and a fan of all types of animation.
Looking at these forums again because I miss discussing things I'm obsessing over. No one seems to be using forums much, it's all on Tumblr, but while there is some interesting analysis there, replying to posts is not really discussion, at least not of the depth you can get on forums. Also, It's annoying having to filter through 20 different blogs devoted to something I like just to find some interesting commentary.
Hoping to find some of that good discussion here (also hoping to find the time to contribute-I'm a good lurker!).

Hello everyone, My name is Parker Young or chunkychief09, and I want to work in animation as a career. I have been interested in cartoons and animation since I was young kid. What inspired me to like animation was watching "My Life as a Teenage Robot", back when it came out on Nick. I would have to say that the show is awesome, and marks a history in my life. MLaaTR had good animation styles, and stories. So between then and now I would always think about cartoons, all the time. I would even dream about having my own cartoons, etc.
So in 2011, I formed my own animation production thingy, called Colorbox Productions. Well at that time I was interested in doing stop-motion claymation, which ended up being a big failure due to time. Between 2011 and 2014 I would just make random videos with the crappy Windows Movie Maker (this also applies for 2009, but not much). Until April of 2015, which was the big change for me and my Colorbox Productions. I decided that I really wanted to work in animation, not sure if to be a storyboardist or what, but would like to create a new animated series when it comes to the future. So what made me want to join Toonzone is that this place is all about animation, including all members ranging from professional animators, to enthusiasts and show fans. I might as well show off my future artwork, and other stuff. We are all here for all things animation, so yeah... I might ask questions about how animation works and their processes though I have MANY books on animation, including hybrid animation (2D-3D integration). Or just post some off-topic stuff, if it fits well.
As 2017 approaches, I am planning to be heavily working on new plans for animation and get better at the process. I might be a little bit of a newbie but I should become better later on. It may be a flunk but who knows...

I would also like to say that my favorite animations (TV shows and movies) are The Iron Giant, The Simpsons (including the movie), My Life as a Teenage Robot, South Park (including the movie), Futurama, Spongebob Squarepants (Seasons 1 - 3), and more including some that might be coming in the future. Favorite games of mine would be Halo series (from the Bungie era), Call of Duty series (pre-Ghosts), Star Wars Battlefront, Dave Mirra Freestyle BMX 2, and possbily more.
When it comes to reading, I would read books on animation or just read Simpsons/Futurama comics; I am not the brightest when I read. Some of my favorite music artists would be Elton John, Daft Punk, Royksopp, Weird Al Yankovic, and more including Supertramp and Bob Seger.

That was a lot of information, lol.
Anyway, it is nice signing up for Toonzone, yet I hope it wasn't too late....

Hello, I am Ratatoskr. I joined due to my love of animation and I only recently found out about this site. I am glad a site like this exists because I can talk to people who have the same interests as me.

Hi everyone, new member. I've already been posting a bit but thought I'd properly introduce myself: I'm from The Netherlands, run a YouTube animation channel where I feature my own work, and have always been interested in all things animation, from stop-motion to abstract, experimental stuff. My heroes are Jim Henson and Carl Barks and whoever made that caveman claymation short that I once watched as a kid, completely mesmerized.

See you around!

Greetings, I am the mysterious NanoRim and I have stumbled across this forum after googling a bunch information on the FoxBox/4Kids TV.

I enjoy a lot of shows on Cartoon Network and golden age Nickelodeon.

Hello, I am Condor.
I am an unfriendly 20-year-old cartoonist with a history of causing misery amongst other cartoonists with my bleak and upsetting outlook on life. I am currently taking animation classes in the California Bay Area and I am known for my bitter disposition and bad history with Internet message boards.

People have described my cartooning style as a hybrid of traditional western style mixed with touches of eastern aesthetics. People have described my demeanor as depressing with a mixture of harsh honesty and aggressive apathy.

I often say things that some would fine offensive, and perhaps even distasteful. Some have even described my vocabulary as that of an alcoholic war veteran who has since retired to become a sailor. However, given how I am unfamiliar with this community's rules and regulations, I may be restricted in that regard. I am unsure.

I have been known to be quite vocal in my dislike of Youtube cartoons and Tumblr as a whole, and am generally unconventional (in the modern sense) when it comes to my tastes in the medium, much preferring the work of Don Hertzfeldt and Walt Kelly over, say, Seth MacFarlene, as opposed to the average college cartoonist.

My cartoons consist of dynamic and expressive characters and occasionally more realistically styled serene reflective people.

I do wish you luck in tolerating my behavior.

EDIT: I should clarify that I'm only here in an attempt to get a surge in feedback on my work, be it positive or negative. That, or be redirected to a site/community that can prove to be beneficial in this regard. I post my work on DeviantArt but it's a dying junkyard.

Hi. So, I'm not technically new, but, I forgot my password and only recently reset it. I actually just got unbanned (I was banned because they thought that I was a sockpuppet account, which I'm not). I actually joined in 2015...

Hey everybody, you can call me Negative Space or Steve, whichever is easier to remember. I don't really know what I want to do with my life at the moment (hooray for being in your twenties, eh?), but something involving animation would not be unwelcome. I joined these forums because I'm a lonely f**k and I thought joining a forum that shared my interests would be a good way to meet more people.

As for my animation tastes, I'm so bitter against 90s nostalgia that I actually have a sort of bias against the period I grew up in, which is unfortunate because some of those shows really were good. Otherwise though, I find it easier to walk through my favorite cartoons by decade/category (I don't expect anyone to read all these but feel free):

90s-King of the Hill, Ren and Stimpy, South Park, One Piece (that started in the 90s, right? Or was that just the manga), Futurama (I like Simpsons a lot too but I think Futurama is the better show by far), Batman:TAS, Mission Hill (or what little I saw of it), Rugrats/Wild Thornberries/Pretty much anything by Klasky Csupo, Cowboy Bebop (Again I haven't seen a lot, but what I have seen is really, really good) Powepuff Girls, Edd Ed n Eddy, Spongebob, and Catdog is pretty good

00s-Teen Titans, Danny Phantom, Fullmetal Alchemist (03), Avatar: TLA, Invader Zim, Samurai Jack, Eureka Seven, Flapjack, IGPX, Samurai Champloo, Soul Eater, Ergo Proxy (anyone else catch that on friggin Fuse? : P), Metalocalypse, Batman: The Brave and the Bold, and does Korgoth of Barbaria count? I think it should. Also I remember liking Duck Dodgers a lot but have no way of recalling if it was actually good or not

2010-now
Adventure Time, Steven Universe, Harvey Beaks, Attack on Titan, Assassination Classroom, Clarence, China IL, Parasyte the Maxim, Mike Tyson Mysteries, Out There, Over The Garden Wall, Bojack Horseman (a pretty relevant show for where I am in my life atm), F is for Family, Axe Cop, Kill la Kill, Flowers of Evil (flawed but good), Yo-Kai Watch, and a shout out to Freaknink: The Musical on adult swim.

Movies-The Iron Giant, Classic/New Disney, Coraline, Everything Pixar except Cars (I've just never seen them) and especially Inside Out and The Incredibles, Spirited Away/Miyazaki, South Park (also a great, maybe unappreciated musical?)/Team America

Games (that specifically have appealing stylized/cartoony visuals or animation!)-Team Fortress 2, Scott Pilgrim Vs The World, The Binding of Isaac/Super Meat Boy, Okami, Mario in general but specifically Paper Mario/Mario RPGs, Zelda: Windwaker, Psychonauts, No More Heroes, Alien Hominid/Castle Crashers, Kirby, Madworld, Bulb Boy, Crawl, Dropsy, Costume Quest, Plants vs Zombies, Spelunky and Cuphead, even though it's not out yet

tl;dr: If I didn't list something, it's not necessarily because I dislike it, but it might just not be a favorite. I like Gravity Falls and Rick and Morty a lot for example, but for reasons they fall just short of my all time favorites.

My name's Crystal & I am a total nerd for cartoons & animation. I am currently a journalism student in college and I run my own media publishing website/company called Cartoon Buzz where animation is the primary focus. I write about animation news, reviews, interesting topics & more in TV & film. I also live and breathe for playing video games soooooo... yep just your average geek but heeey cya around I guess ;)

Heyo!
I go by the name PJs and I'm strongly interested in cartoons and animation in general. Since I completely suck at making animations myself, I just enjoy drawing for fun.
I'm not very good with words so I'll very likely be more of a lurker instead of an active poster though. The forum environment seemed like a fun place to be so I decided to make an account here.
