Marvel Studios in collaboration with ILM Immersive have announced an interactive Disney+ Original story which will be available exclusively on Apple Vision Pro. Titled What If…? – An Immersive Story, the experience will allow fans visit the multiverse as never before through an immersive, narrative-driven and innovative story in mixed reality.
What If…? – An Immersive Story utilizes the revolutionary technological advancements of Apple Vision Pro to deliver an engaging experience for the fans, who will be able to live an adventure inside augmented and virtual reality. They will be able to step into environments that place them in new and iconic Marvel locations. A trailer is featured below in the article.
This new immersive story is meant to be connected to the What If…? animated series streaming on Disney+ (which in turn is based on the comics with the same title). What If…? reimagines events from various Marvel Cinematic Universe stories, resulting into new and unique adventures. While the comics used the entire Marvel Universe as their backdrop, the animated series – and by extension, this new virtual experience – only focus on the MCU. The cosmic entity known as the Watcher acts as out guide through the multiverse.
What If…? – An Immersive Story is directed by Dave Bushore and produced by Shereif M. Fattouh, executive produced by Bushore, Fattouh, and Brad Winderbaum, with Bryan Andrews serving as consulting producer. The experience is written by David Dong and Phil McCarty, with music by Oscar-nominated and Emmy-winning composer Laura Karpman.

What If…? – An Immersive Story releases exclusively on Apple Vision Pro on May 30th, 2024. Meanwhile, two seasons of the animated What If…? series are available to watch on Disney+, with a third one on the way.
