Daniel Craig

After saying, a few months ago, that the mere thought of directing the 24th installment in the James Bond franchise would make him “physically ill”, director Sam Mendes seems to feel much better after receiving what he termed a “very generous offer” from the Bond franchise overseers to direct Bond 24. Initially, Mendes, the director of the last film in the series “Skyfall”, which is the #177 film domestically all-time [when adjusted for inflation], took himself out of the running for directing the next in the franchise series, citing a busy schedule. Apparently that schedule just got less busy once the helicopter dropped off the “very generous offer”. Daniel Craig will return for his fourth film as 007 along with, presumably, a few new characters and – possibly – more technical gadgetry and a bona fide Bond girl this time around.

“Bond 24” is expected to have a late 2015 release.
