Animation historian Jerry Beck is reporting that the historic Bob Clampett animation studio at 729 Seward Street in Hollywood, CA, is up for sale. The studio, which has been held by the Clampett family for over 40 years, has been the site of several landmark animation events, such as being the home base for the animated Beany & Cecil show, the starting base for the Klasky-Csupo production company, and the site where the first episodes of The Simpsons were made. Clampett Studio Collections is currently operating on the second floor of the building, run by Clampett’s daughter Ruth.
