In the wake of an official announcement at the Warner Archive Collection’s “A Batman For All Seasons” panel at San Diego Comic Con, product listings have emerged for Young Justice: The Complete First Season at Warner Archive’s shop and other online retailers. The Blu-ray set will collect the series’ first twenty-six episodes in high definition, following the example of Warner Archive’s recent Blu-ray release of Green Lantern: The Animated Series earlier this year and its first season collection for Batman: The Brave and the Bold. The collection will retail for $24.95 MSRP and be released on August 12, 2014.
In advertisements earlier this year, Warner Archive promoted a second season collection for Batman: The Brave and the Bold as “coming soon”. The label is also releasing Beware the Batman in half season sets, with its second and final 13-episode collection scheduled for a September 30, 2014 release.
Warner Archive is using this plot synopsis to promote Young Justice: The Complete First Season:
In Young Justice, being a teenager means proving yourself over and over — to peers, parents, teachers, mentors and, ultimately, to yourself. But what if you’re not just a normal teenager? What if you’re a teenage super hero? How much harder will it be to prove yourself in a world of super powers, super villains and super secrets? Are you ready to come of age in such a world? Are you ready for life or death rites of passage? Are you ready to join the ranks of the great heroes and prove you’re worthy of the Justice League? That’s exactly what the members of Young Justice — Robin, Aqualad, Kid Flash, Superboy, Miss Martian and Artemis — will find out … whether they have what it takes to be a proven hero. From Warner Bros. Animation and based on DC Comics characters, Young Justice is a bold new animated series. Are you in?
