Of the many games that are meant to come out this year in spite of the global lockdown, Cyberpunk 2077 continues to be one of the most anticipated of the set. Not the least of which is because it’s made by CD Projekt Red who have been killing it with The Witcher franchise for a very long time now. One of the things they’ve been sure to emphasize over its creation is the idea of freedom in the world of the game, aka Night City. But it apparently goes even further than you think.
The developer (according to ComicBook.com) has apparently revealed that you can truly finish the game…without beating the main plot of the game. Which would be truly something unique to Cyberpunk 2077. As many have noted, there are games out there with “easy out” endings such as Far Cry 5 where you can “end” the game before it even begins with a single choice.
However, for Cyberpunk, it goes to a whole new level. They revealed that the games subplots are so interconnected that you can do just the subplots, and thus alter the main game experience to such an extent that the main plot isn’t needed to defeat the game. Which again would be quite a feat.
This would give completionists and those seeking many ways to beat the game a lot of variety on how to handle things. Not to mention give players even more reasons to explore the various parts of this Cyberpunk world.
And this of course doesn’t expand on the notion of your character and changing them to fit your style and the various ways you can complete every single mission and subplot. So in short, this is going to be one of the deepest games ever should the team make it work like they want it to.
Cyberpunk 2077 releases on November 19th.
