XSEED Announces Two New RPG PC Ports

What does XSEED have planned for the summer? PC versions of two RPGs were announced today…and they’re coming very soon! How does less than a month sound?

First up is Ys: Memories of Celceta which was originally released on the PS Vita in 2013. The PC remaster supports a wide range of HD resolutions, an unlocked framerate (as well as other fixed framerate options), customizable control bindings and more.Thre’s also an enhanced version of the Time Attack and Boss Rush modes where you can compete against other PC players through the new leaderboard.

Knowing nothing but his name, Adol Christin awakens to find himself in the town of Casnan, a bustling frontier village at the edge of an endless sea of trees and untamed wilderness. Bereft of past and purpose, he is left to wander the town until a mysterious information dealer who claims to know him winds up joining him on a sudden mission to rid the local mine of monsters. This unexpected quest reawakens Adol’s instincts as an accomplished swordsman, and together with Duren, his adventures attract the attention of a Romun Army general stationed in the town. Impressed with their skills, she enlists the pair to assist in mapping the Great Forest of Celceta – a task which many have attempted but none have ever returned from.

The latest Ys release is a fairly conventional RPG, but XSEED’s second announced game is anything but. Originally released on the PS4 last year, Touhou: Scarlet Curiosity is an action RPG with massive emphasis on the “action.” Spun off from a series of bullet hell shooters, Scarlet Curiosity retains the massive amount of enemies and projectiles but ties in exploration and level building.

The adventure begins with the so-called “Scarlet Devil” Remilia Scarlet, who, at 500 years old, is desperately searching for something new to end the monotony of immortality. After stumbling upon a newspaper article about a powerful and mysterious monster terrorizing the countryside, she rushes out to see if this could finally be the excitement for which she yearns. Unfortunately, not only is she unsuccessful in her search for the monster, but she returns to find her manor in ruins. It would seem the monster has come to her! With a renewed sense of determination (and a much-needed respite from her boredom), she vows to take revenge on this fiend and make it pay!
