There are 10 reasons – okay, maybe nine – why you should be happy for the release of the “Winter Gala” update for “Just Dance 2020” and the first reason is that it is free and as we always tell you – free is a very good price.

Whether there are eight or nine additional reasons depends on where you stand on one particular song that is included in the the three new songs in the update, those being:

“Sucker” by the Jonas Brothers [debuted last year on “The Late Late Show with James Corden with a video featuring the wives of all three brothers, won “Best Pop Video” at the MTV Video Music Awards and is nominated for a Grammy].

“Don’t Call Me Up” by Mabel [which also debuted last year and has racked up more than 100 million views for the YouTube video of the song]

“1999” by Charli XCX & Troye Sivan [released two years ago and makes no mention in the video of the only song which should ever be associated with the year 1999 – by Prince]

Three more reasons emerge in the form of Steep-branded avatars you can win by defeating bosses – a snowboarding Yeti and multi-color dinosaur seem like the most desirable of the three.

Then there are the final three reasons, the inclusion of three old-school [depending on what defines your old-school range] songs:

“Here Comes The Hotstepper” by Ini Kamoze [the number one song in the country in December 1994]

“Gold Dust” by DJ Fresh [a UK hit in 2010]

“Satellite” by Lena Meyer-Landrut [which won Eurovision for Germany in 2010]

Winter Gala is available now through February 2, 2020 [Groundhog Day, when it might be available infinitely in Punxsutawney, Pennsylvania…]
