Only a few weeks after it was announced that Evan Peters [“American Horror Story” and “Kick-Ass”] was all set to become Quicksilver in the upcoming “X-Men“ Days of Future Past”, director Joss Whedon confirmed that Quicksilver will also be in his film – “Avengers 2” – along with his sister, Scarlet Witch. While Peters will play the role for the X-Men version, no casting has yet been made for the Avengers 2 version of the role [nor for the role of Scarlet Witch]. Quicksilver is the speedy son of villain Magneto and who later becomes a member of the Avengers along with Scarlet Witch, who brings telekinetic superpowers to the table. Whedon also confirmed that there will be a singular male villain for the Avengers sequel and early betting lines seem to be favoring Thanos.
“Avengers 2” is tentatively scheduled for a 2015 release.
