Warner Bros Says “Hello Kitty!” to Sanrio in Animated Movie Deal

Warner Bros has licensed Sanrio’s iconic Hello Kitty character for an animated feature film to be produced by its New Line division, along with merchandise rights and possible spinoff projects. The deal also includes rights to about 20 Hello Kitty characters, including Gudetama and My Melody. The deal marks the first time that Sanrio will be bringing Hello Kitty to global movie screens.
