Untitled Goose Game took the world by storm when it was released last year by House House. You are a goose in a small village, and your one and only mission in life is to make existence miserable for everybody around you. Steal stuff! Pull pranks! Harass small children with your honks! The game was a short one, and can be completed in an hour or less if you know what you’re doing. But even though most folks have finished it, they’re still honking for a physical copy.
It took long enough, but it’s finally happening. You can get your goose starting today.
Untitled Goose Game will be released physically in two forms, and for two systems: Playstation 4 and Nintendo Switch. The website IAm8Bit is selling a limited print run of a “Lovely Edition” that contains the game, a folded poster map of the village drawn by Marigold Bartlett, a “Plaza Catalog” of the items you can find in the game, and a “No Goose” sticker. Some good feelies if you ask us.
Where’s the soundtrack? It’s right here…being sold separately. The Untitled Goose Game Vinyl Soundtrack, by Dan Golding and made out of entirely recycled material, sells for $30. The Lovely Edition also uses as much recycled content as possible. Old newspapers, candy wrappers….maybe even goose poop!
Is this sale the only chance anyone will have at a physical Goose Game? IAm8Bit hasn’t announced any other release plans…however, they’ve been producing extra print runs of their previous limited releases for Best Buy, and if that market giant got copies of Donut County and Kentucky Route Zero, there is no way they will pass up Untitled Goose Game. That’s just speculation on our part, so dawdle at your own risk.
Preorders for Untitled Goose Game are now open for an unspecified period of time; the game itself will be printed and shipped sometime this fall.
