Ubisoft Offering Free Access To Steep This Weekend

Got nothing to do this weekend? How about a free game? Ubisoft’s downhill skiing/snowboarding game, Steep, will be offered free of charge this weekend only. It’s not a limited demo, it’s the full game, including online play and the newest region added, Alaska.

· Grinding: In Alaska, there’s new spots to try adding a new spin to tricks, including more colorful villages and snow banks. Grinding on rails is now easier in Steep, and you can combine these with other tricks to create truly sick stunts.

· Spinelines: Exploring Alaska in Steep can feel just like it would in real life. With long, winding trail of spineline down the side of epic Mount Denali, you can cut and carve your way to sweet lines.

· Editor Mode: New camera angles are available for your editing pleasure! You can also remove the HUD to ensure your final creation is polished and nothing gets in the way of showing off crazy stunts.

If you end up liking Steep, you’ll have the option of purchasing the whole game at a discount. Starting March 10 there will be a 50 percent discount on the Standard Edition and a 40 percent discount for the Gold Edition on XBL until March 13, and PSN until March 20. On Ubisoft’s Store there is a 50 percent discount for the Standard and Gold Edition until March 14. But if you choose not to pay, Steep is free from March 10 through March 12 on all three platforms. Here are the precise hours:

  • Xbox One: 3/10 at 12:01 a.m. PT to 3/13 at 11:59 p.m. PT
  • PS4: 3/10 at 10 a.m. PT to 3/13 at 10 a.m. PT
  • PC (requires an account with Ubisoft’s own Uplay market): 3/10 at 10 a.m. PT to 3/13 at 10 a.m. PT
