Trio Of Korean Classics Makes It To Film

A trio of Korean classic children’s books have been adapted for film for release in Korea. “Buckwheat Flower”, “A Lucky Day” and “Spring” are the film adaptations of children’s books from Lee Hyo-seok, Hyun Jin-gun and Kim You-jeong. “Buckwheat Flower” reminisces about the good old days through the perspective of an old man’s eyes while “Spring” details the role of the farmer and relationships in Korean culture and the final entry, “A Lucky Day” tells of a rickshaw driver in Seoul battling the impending and overwhelming destiny of progress.

The trio of films will be released in South Korea on August 21, 2014 – no date has yet been set for a North American release.
