Trailer and Rating Announced for “The Death of Superman”

IGN has posted the trailer for the upcoming DC animated movie The Death of Superman. According to the trailer the film will be rated PG-13 for sequences of violence and action including some bloody images.

Based on the best selling graphic novel, this adaptation will follow the comic book story more closely as an alien arrives on Earth unleashing destruction in his path, and when the Justice League can’t stop him, the Man of Steel must make the ultimate sacrifice.

The Death of Superman will feature the voices of Jerry O’Connell (Stand By Me, The Big Bang Theory) as Superman and his wife Rebecca Romijn (X-Men, The Librarians) as Lois Lane, Rainn Wilson (The Office) as Lex Luthor, Jason O’Mara as Batman, Rosario Dawson as Wonder Woman, Nathan Fillion (Firefly, Castle) as Green Lantern, Shemar Moore (Criminal Minds, S.W.A.T.) as Cyborg, Matt Lanter (Star Wars: The Clone Wars, Ultimate Spider-Man) as Aquaman, Christopher Gorham as the Flash, Rocky Carrol as Silas Stone, and Patrick Fabian as Hank Henshaw. The film will be directed by Jake Castorena.

The Death of Superman will be on DVD, Blu-ray, and Digital in the Summer of 2018, with the world premiere coming to San Diego Comic-Con this July. You can see the trailer here.

  1. Cyborg, huh (not Victor Stone, but the bad guy Cyborg), but wait a minute, "Hank Henshaw" and "Cyborg" are listed as separate characters. What could that mean? Unless both Cyborgs are in this version? In any case, what about (The Man of) Steel, The Eradicator, and "Superboy" (Kon-El)? Don't we know who their voices are. They are in this movie, right?
