The gaming industry constantly evolves, with new titles released nearly every week. Some games are hyped before release, but others are only discovered after release when players start chatting about them online or in person.
These games are often on everyone’s radar as soon as they get announced because of how highly anticipated they’re considered to be by gamers all over the world. We’ve compiled a list of some of the most exciting upcoming releases based on what we know so far:
1. Starfield
Starfield is a new sci-fi game from Bethesda, the company behind the Elder Scrolls and Fallout series. It is expected to be released in 2023, but further information has yet to be released.
The game takes place in space, with players exploring planets and taking part in ship battles; there are hints that there will be multiplayer elements to Starfield, too.
2. Hytale
Hytale is a first-person shooter set in a post-apocalyptic world. It is being developed by Capcom, the same company responsible for the popular Resident Evil series of games. The game will be available on PC and consoles when it launches in 2023.
Players take control of a character named Cal in the game. They must fight through hordes of zombies and other monsters to survive.
3. Ark II
Ark II is a new space survival game from Ark II Studios, set to be released in 2023. The game will feature a multiplayer mode where players can work together to survive on an alien planet full of hostile creatures. In addition, the game is being developed for PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
In addition to its unique gameplay features, Ark II’s design includes striking visuals reminiscent of classic sci-fi movies such as “Alien” or “Mad Max: Fury Road.” This futuristic setting has been further enhanced by 3D technology to create realistic graphics that make players feel like they’re actually on an alien planet.
4. Street Fighter 6
Street Fighter 6 is an upcoming fighting game in the Street Fighter series developed by Capcom and published by Nintendo. It is set to be released on the Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC in 2023. The game will feature cross-platform multiplayer between all platforms except for PS4 and Switch due to Sony’s unwillingness to allow it.
Although no specific details about gameplay or story have been revealed yet, it has been confirmed that Street Fighter 6 will feature a new combat system and an improved replay mode that allows players to save replays for later viewing time during their playing session.
5. Off the Grid
Off the Grid is a first-person shooter set in a post-apocalyptic world. You and your friends play as survivalists, trying to stay alive in the desert. As you progress through the game, you can build homes, plant gardens, and create water sources for yourself. The primary mode of transportation is by foot or vehicle—you can choose between cars or bikes for getting around.
The developers have said that one of the most exciting aspects of Off the Grid is that it’s a co-op game where players must work together to survive against enemies who aren’t playing by any rules!
6. Payday 3
Payday 3 will be a first-person shooter developed by Overkill Software. The game is slated for release in 2023 and will be available on PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
The game can be played on Microsoft Windows, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One. It is a sequel to PayDay-The Heist, published by Sony Online Entertainment and developed by Overkill Software. The game received mixed reviews upon release; reviewers praised its cooperative gameplay and heist-style missions but criticized its repetitive nature.
7. Dead Space Remake
Dead Space is a series of action horror video games. The game takes place in space on an abandoned mining ship called the USG Ishimura. Aliens attacked the Ishimura, and these creatures have taken over its crew, so you have to fight them off if you want to survive.
The remake of this game will be coming out soon, and it looks like it will be a lot better than the original Dead Space games! In addition to being able to play as Issac Clarke, there will also be new gameplay mechanics like weapon crafting and dismemberment! So if you’re looking for something exciting but want something manageable, check out Dead Space when it releases later this year!
8. Kerbal Space Program 2
Kerbal space program 2 is the sequel to the popular Kerbal space program. It will be released in 2023 and is a space simulator, meaning you can use it to simulate different scenarios of traveling through space. It will be released for PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
9. Dishonored 3
Dishonored 3 is a sequel to the original Dishonored game and its spin-off, Death of the Outsider. While there are no plans for another standalone title, Arkane has announced that the next installment in this series will be released at the end of 2022.
In Dishonored 3, you’ll play Meagan Foster, featured in Death of the Outsider, and some of the novels based on these games. She is a former bodyguard turned assassin working for Kirin Jindosh (who also appeared in Death of the Outsider) when an attack on him leaves her with amnesia and an inability to remember how she ended up working for him or really anything about herself except her name.
As far as gameplay goes, Dishonored 3 will continue using stealth tactics combined with magic powers from The Outsider along with an array of weapons, including swords, crossbows, and grenades, among others like those seen during past installments but also unique ones like a flamethrower explicitly added for this new game!
10. The Last of Us Part 3
The Last of Us Part 3 is in 2033 and features a female protagonist, Ellie. The game will take place in Seattle, and players can control her as she searches for a cure to the virus while also dealing with humans who have turned violent due to the infection.
The multiplayer aspect of this title will let you play online with others or against AI-controlled enemies on your team, which should make this game even more fun than it already seems!
11. Red Dead Redemption 2: Undead Nightmare
The long-awaited sequel to Rockstar’s best-selling Western-themed video game, Red Dead Redemption, is finally set to release at the end of 2022. The game occurs during the Great Depression and follows Arthur Morgan, a Dutch Van der Linde gang member, in a fictionalized version of the Wild West.
Players can ride horses through open landscapes and engage in shootouts with rival gangs while playing as Morgan and other characters from Red Dead Redemption 1 or 2. Red Dead Redemption 2: Undead Nightmare will also feature zombies! According to Rockstar, the zombies will be “fast-moving” because they want players “to be scared” when they encounter them.
12. Kingdom Hearts 4
Kingdom Hearts 4 is an upcoming action role-playing game developed and published by Square Enix. The game is directed by Tetsuya Nomura, who also directed the previous three games in the series. Series director of Kingdom Hearts 3, Takeshi Nozue, has returned as co-director. It will be released in January 2023 for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
