While obviously not as grand as it usually is due to the pandemic still gripping the world, the Tokyo Game Show has been dropping some interesting tidbits here and there to keep gamers satisfied. One of the things they no doubt appreciate the most is that of the Cyberpunk 2077 demo that dropped. The 9-minute video focuses on gameplay that you can experience while you’re in the main setting of Night City.
What’s immediately clear here is that the game looks incredible. Night City is a vibrant Megapolois and every character you see stands out in one way or the other, mainly because of the “desire” for body modification via robotic implants. Now, there isn’t too much new in the gameplay clip in terms of “groundbreaking reveals”, but it might just be enough to keep you satisfied until its release.
However, that wasn’t the only thing that was shown, because not long after the demo dropped, the official Twitter handle for the game went and dropped some character art of someone not seen in the game yet:
サブロウ・アラサカ(荒坂 三郎)
1919年、東京生まれ。齢158にして、2077年の世界でもいまだアラサカ社のトップに君臨。一代でアラサカを大帝国にまで築き上げた。#サイバーパンク2077 pic.twitter.com/A9isv3LZVr— CD PROJEKT RED Japan (@CDPRJP) September 26, 2020
His description reads:
“Born in Tokyo in 1919. At the age of 158, he still reigns at the top of Arasaka in the world in 2077,” reads the translated version of the character’s description. “He built Arasaka into a great empire in his generation.”
We know that Night City is one run by companies like Arasaka, and given that they’re giving him a “grand reveal” like this it’s very likely you’re going to meet him as you progress through the game’s story.
On the American Twitter handle for Cyberpunk 2077 you’ll find new screenshots of Night City itself, showing a sprawling city that you’re going to enjoy exploring and doing sidequests in.
Given all of this, it’s understandable why so many are eager to get this game when it arrives in November.
