All this week Microsoft will be unveiling XBox One bundles that will be available this holiday season. On Monday they announced a bundle that would pack in Rise of the Tomb Raider as well as the original Tomb Raider (the original reboot, that is). Tuesday saw the reveal of a bundle including Gears Of War Ultimate Edition, Ori and the Blind Forest, and all 30 games in the Rare Replay collection. Today, everything is awesome as the Lego Movie bundle has been introduced.
This is a 500GB model priced at $350 that comes with the Lego Movie video game as well as a digital copy of the movie itself. Its clearly a release aimed more at families, as most hardcore gamers would balk at not getting the 1 TB model (as well as a more substantial pack-in). But there’s more than plenty of bundles aimed at the hardcore: in addition to the Tomb Raider and Rare Replay bundles, there’s also the Halo 5: Guardians system bundle coming, as well as and the Xbox One Elite Bundle which hits in November. There are several more bundles available this second, including the likes of Madden NFL 16, FIFA 16, Forza Motorsport 6, and Gears of War Ultimate Edition.
Clearly Microsoft is getting aggressive this season. We’ll see if Sony responds with any deals of their own (the PS4 has needed a price drop for far too long). This isn’t even the end — we have two more bundles to go, which will be revealed on Thursday and Friday.
