The Worlds Ends With You Anime Gets New Trailer

The World Ends With You

2021 is looking to be a big year for anime as a whole. Right now, the final season of Attack on Titan is going on, and other anime are rising up to take its place as the “must-watch anime” out there. Not to mention, My Hero Academia is days away from its season 5 premiere (as well as a movie coming out in the Summer). But one anime you also should be keeping an eye on is that of the anime adaptation of the cult-classic video game The World Ends With You.

For those who don’t recall, this was a title that was made by Jupiter, published by Square Enix, and put on the Nintendo DS. It amazed fans and critics with its anime-style visuals and story, but also its unique combat system that had you controlling two characters on two different screens. It was later ported to all sorts of different systems and then most recently put onto the Nintendo Switch, where the sales were enough to finally justify a sequel.

Fast forward to now, and there’s an anime coming, and it’s arrive in April, meaning we’ll have lots of good anime to watch throughout the year. Here’s the second trailer.

Those who know The World Ends With You will notice that this is a very accurate adaptation of the title. From the characters and looks, to the Noise (the enemies in the Reaper’s Game) to key moments that take place within the story, and more. It appears to be a 1-to-1 adaptation, which fans will be happy with no doubt.

As for what the anime will bring to the table though, that would be the incredible visuals and the fights that the players had to do themselves last time. Everything looks crisp and so fans will no doubt want to check this anime out when it arrives.
