The South Park Vaccination Special Premieres March 10

Despite what some might tell you, humor is a very important thing to have in trying times. That’s why it was disappointing that we didn’t get a full season of South Park last fall. Instead an hour-long “Pandemic Special” appeared instead. The exact reason for this has never been revealed — whether Matt and Trey were concerned for the safety of their staff, or whether the events of 2020 were too dark even for them to focus ten whole episodes on, we may never know. But the good news is, a follow-up special has just been announced, and we’re getting it within a month.

“WE….WILL….BE….HERD,” declares the ten-second, all-text trailer for the South Park Vaccination Special. Not much information to fill out a newspost, but fortunately an official summary was posted as well. “The citizens of South ParQ are clamoring for the COVID-19 vaccine. [Meanwhile] a hilarious new militant group tries to stop the boys from getting their teacher vaccinated.” Note the alteration of the series’ title, which makes it even more obvious what the target will be this time.

Parker and Stone probably aren’t reading this, but in the slight chance that they are, I’d like to offer this suggestion: can we PLEASE give Tegridy Weed a rest already? Randy’s farm is well past played out. I have no desire to see Mr. Marsh trot out a special blend he calls a “Vaccination Special”, because get it, that’s the title of the episode, which causes Sheila to erupt “REALLY RANDY? A VACCINATION SPECIAL??” She has a point. It’s not funny anymore. Randy isn’t in the episode description….I hope that means something.

The South Park Vaccination Special will premiere Wednesday, March 10 at 8:00 PM on Comedy Central, with two encore airings immediately following at 9:00 PM and 10:00 PM. If that’s not enough chances, you can also catch it simulcast on MTV2 and/or on HBO Max the next day.
