Without a doubt, the most universally loved things in the Star Wars universe in the last couple years has been The Mandalorian, and with The Mandalorian Season 2 coming sometime this year, and Season 3 already confirmed, fans are looking forward to see where the series takes them. There has already been confirmation that Boba Fett and Ashoka Tano will arrive in the season, but now, there’s even more rumors as to who will show up.
According to Kessel Run Transmissions, Sabine Wren, who you might know from Star Wars Rebels, might just make her own live-action debut across from Ashoka Tano. They’re stating that they’ll share and episode with one another in Season 2 in a way to tie into Star Wars Rebels via its ending where they’re seen together on a mission to via Ezra. The other tease is that Commander Rex will also be in the season in some capacity.
One might wonder why these characters would be on The Mandalorian Season 2, and the answer to that is that when Star Wars Rebels ended, they were teasing a sequel series. Mainly in that Ezra was alive, and both Sabine and Ashoka were going to go find him. What’s more, we see that Hera had a son with Kanan before he died, and that the other characters are still out there in a galaxy far far away.
The reason fans loved The Mandalorian in its inaugural season was because of its somewhat atypical Star Wars feel. Especially in its main character of Mando, as well as the surprise that broke the internet via Baby Yoda. They also appreciated how it only very LIGHTLY touched on Jedi matters via Baby Yoda and focused more on the Mandalorian race, bounty hunting, and more.
Many hope that the upcoming season 2 is just as impressive, and fun, as the original, even if some of these rumors of returning Star Wars characters isn’t true.
