Anyone who knows The Mandalorian knows that it almost single-handedly brought back Star Wars from the brink given the very divisive nature of the Star Wars Sequel Trilogy. It was something so fresh and different that people couldn’t help but fall in love with it, its characters, its style of storytelling, and so on. Naturally, this has led to the tale of Manda and Baby Yoda being told in various ways, and now, that is set to include a manga adaptation of their saga.
Yes, it’s true, apparently, The Mandalorian is going to get a mangaka of its first season (with a second season to release eventually no doubt) and the first chapter will come out on May 25th. The ones handling this are Big Gangan, who if you didn’t know also did a Spider-Man mangaka known as “Fake Red” so clearly Disney liked what they did before.
This may seem like an odd move at first, but recall that Disney is always wanting to expand their reach and showcase just how “all-encompassing” many of their stories are. To that end, breaking out into the mangaka market to help bring in more attention to the series, especially with Season 3 underway, could be a boon for them going forward. And one has to admit, it’ll probably look really cool as a manga.
As for The Mandalorian Season 3, we only know certain things thanks to Mando and Baby Yoda’s return via The Book of Boba Fett. Such as how they’re indeed reunited and now are roaming the galaxy as a clan, and how we still need some resolution about the Darksaber and other things.
Needless to say, fans are excited for what might happen next, and so hearing about these spinoffs and retellings will likely get them even more pumped for what is to come.
