We finally have a solid trailer to watch for Birds of Prey (And the Fantabulous Emancipation of One Harley Quinn). Two solid minutes of Harley Quinn, Huntress, Black Canary and Renee Montoya, but mostly, MOSTLY Harley.
Also, we’ve learned that WB has been using a shortened version of the title up to now. The full name of the picture is Birds of Prey (And the Fantabulous Emancipation of One Harley Quinn Who Was Introduced In The Batman Animated Series By Bruce Timm And Paul Dini And Then Kevin Smith Named His Kid After Her Which Was Weird Maybe It’s Not Any Better Than All Those Parents Who Named Their Daughters Elsa But It’s More Noticeable In This Case What Was He Thinking But Anyway). For the purposes of this article, though, we’re shortening it to Birds of Prey (And the Fantabulous Emancipation of One Harley Quinn).
Harley has given Joker the brush-off (good for her) and is looking for a fresh start. Problem is, she’s still and will always be Harley, giant mallets and all — if only there was a way to channel all that chaos into something good. The titular Birds of Prey, consisting of Huntress, Black Canary and a few others, have their hands full fighting crime boss Black Mask. Then in comes Harley, and as the butler said on that 80s TV show, “when they met, it was murdah.”
Birds of Prey stars Margot Robbie (Suicide Squad, I Tonya) as Harley, Jurnee Smollett-Bell (True Blood) as Black Canary, Mary Elizabeth Winstead (10 Cloverfield Lane, Scott Pilgrim vs. the World) as Huntress, Rosie Perez (White Men Can’t Jump) as Renee Montoya, Ella Jay Basco (Nothing Else Yet) as Cassandra Cain, and Ewan McGregor (Ewan McGregor) as the villainous Black Mask. it begins playing in theaters this February.
