TELETOON Dives Into Summer with New Original Series

Camp Lakebottom

World Broadcast Premiere on Thursday, July 4 at 6:30 p.m. ET/PT

Camp Lakebottom

(Toronto, Ontario – June 19, 2013) – The Camp Director is a monster, the lake is called Ickygloomy and the oatmeal has a life of its own. But in the eyes of a kid, Camp Lakebottom is the best camp ever! TELETOON is proud to present the world broadcast premiere of its latest original series, Camp Lakebottom, on Thursday, July 4 at 6:30 p.m. ET/PT, during the Can’t Miss Thursdays programming block.

Camp Lakebottom recounts the adventures of 12-year-old prankster McGee and his summer at the most dangerous – and exciting – summer camp in the world. The cabins are run down, the lake is toxic, the forest creatures are mutants and the counsellors are a real creep show, but McGee and his pals, Gretchen and Squirt, are having the time of their lives. The only thing they could do without is that snooty kid, Buttsquat, from the squeaky clean rival camp across the lake.

Camp Lakebottom

“Camp Lakebottom is the ultimate summer series for kids, complete with gross-out humour, plenty of pranks and a good amount of heart. We’re thrilled to be premiering it as part of our Can’t Miss Thursdays lineup this summer,” said Alan Gregg, Director, Original Content, TELETOON Canada Inc.

Produced for TELETOON by 9 Story Entertainment, Camp Lakebottom is created by Betsy McGowen and Eric Jacobson. Executive Producers are Vince Commisso, Steve Jarosz, Kevin Gillis, Betsy McGowen and Eric Jacobson. Season one consists of 13 half-hour episodes.

In addition to new episodes premiering every Thursday at 6:30 p.m. ET/PT throughout the summer, Camp Lakebottom will air Friday mornings at 9:30 a.m. ET/PT, during TELETOON’s special summer lineup, Camp TELETOON, airing weekday mornings from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. ET/PT.

Last pup of a dying planet, a young German Shepherd is rocketed to Earth, where he is bombarded by cosmic gamma rays emitted by a radioactive spider. Crash-landing in the forgotten land of Hubba Hubba, he is discovered by the Who-You-Callin'-Ancient One and his lovely wife Pookie. Instilled with their traditional American values, he spends his young adulthood roaming the globe, learning all the secrets of Comic-Fu. Donning battle armor fashioned from spilled chemicals splashed by lightning, he becomes the Sensational Shield of Sequential Art ACE THE BATHOUND! Look, it sounds a lot better than the truth. Born in Brooklyn, moved to Queens at 3 and then New Jersey at 10. Throughout high school, college, grad school, and gainful employment, two things have remained constant: 1) I am a colossal nerd, and 2) I have spent far too much time reading comics, and then reading and writing about them. Currently working as a financial programmer in New York City, while continuing to discover all the wonderful little surprises (and expenses) of owning your a home in the suburbs. Shares the above with a beautiful, wonderful, and incredibly understanding wife named Frances (who, thankfully, participates in most of my silly hobbies) and a large furry dog named Brownie (who, sadly, does not).
