What’s new for Splatoon 2? Anything really big?
Splatoon 2 is one of the biggest games on the Nintendo Switch right now, and it’s in large part because Nintendo continues to bring new content to it via its updates. But, during the most recent Nintendo Direct, it was revealed the game is going to be getting a whole lot bigger.
First up, in April, the game will be receiving its 3.0 update, which will bring 100+ pieces of new gear, three new stages to play on, and a new Rank called “Rank X”, which will be expanded upon as the update draws closer.
But the biggest reveal is that there’s going to be a first-ever expansion for the Splatoon series. This one is called the “Octo Expansion’, and it feature you as an Octoling for the first time. This expansion brings an 80-level singleplayer campaign for you to do, and if you make it through the new levels and make it to Inkopolis? You’ll get to play as an Octoling in Splatoon 2.
The expansion is set to arrive this summer.
