The Hollywood Reporter has reported that the 21st season of Comedy Central’s hit show South Park will be pushed back to September 13, 2017, instead of August 23 as originally planned.
According to creators Trey Parker and Matt Stone, they wanted to get back to basics and do one-off episodes after satirizing the 2016 Presidential Campaign. The last two seasons had an overarching plot until they hit a road bump when Donald Trump won the presidency. Originally the show had plans for a Clinton victory.
Also, Stone and Parker made a decision to lay off Donald Trump jokes for this year.
Season 21 of South Park will premiere September 13 on Comedy Central.
