Remember that strange pair of commercials two months ago where Dragon Ball Z characters were redubbed to sell Ford cars? Well, the company’s at it again, and this time, they’ve appropriated footage from the Playstation classic Metal Gear Solid.
What kind of world has this become where a large company like Ford even knows what these properties are? While hearing Mantis and Col. Roy Campbell rattle off detailed specifics about new car models is bizarre, it fits into the MGS world better than DBZ does — after all, stranger things have been said in the actual games themselves.

And yes, these are the original actors….which makes things even more confusing if you know the recent history of bridge burning between Konami, Hideo Kojima, and Solid Snake’s voice actor David Hayter. Kojima hates Konami for treating him like garbage and then firing him, Hayter hates both Konami and Kojima for replacing him with Keifer Sutherland in MGS 5, and Konami hates everybody and everything. Somehow the power of money was enough to overcome all that.
