During its “Adult Swim on the Green” screening last Thursday, the chaotic cable network revealed its latest Robot Chicken crossover. They’ve worked with Star Wars, they’ve stop-motioned the DC superheroes….what could be next? A co-production with KFC where the Robot Chicken himself runs into Colonel Sanders, that’s what.
Attendees of the screening got to see the first chapter, which is also online. I would summarize what happens in it, but the player on the Adult Swim website isn’t working for me. I’m going to guess the first thing a partially-armored chicken does when he meets a Southerner responsible for the deaths of millions of his kind is fight him….though the one thing I do know is that they team up to fight a greater foe eventually.
This is just part of KFC’s new campaign that has been using the Colonel lately in weird and irreverent ways, such as the wi-fi-emitting statues around Gaslamp Park that depict him cosplaying. No, seriously:
I know this is an ad, and also making fun of a dead man, but it’s hilarious.
Next, expect the new, off-putting Colonel to team up with the Burger King and that stilted Frenchwoman from the Yoplait ads and initiate a killing spree across America. For now, his team-up with Robot Chicken can be seen at adultswim.com/kfc.
