Day Three of Comic-Con 2013 in San Diego was insane with news and none of it was larger than the triple bombshells of Warner Bros announcing that Batman and Superman will team up for a movie, X-Men Appeared and Disney/Marvel have a name for their “Avengers” sequel. In Bombshell #1, Warner Bros. decided that instead of making a Superman-only sequel to the lukewarm “Man of Steel”, they will instead toss Batman in the mix for a double heaping helping of superhero-ness for a sequel that is currently scheduled for a Summer 2015 release.

Bombshell #2 wasn’t really much of a bombshell with Fox bringing out the cast of its superhero movie “X-Men: Days of Future Past” [release date: May 23, 2014] in a mostly expected move – but director Bryan Singer did reveal the key plot element that will have Wolverine going back in time and not Kitty.

Meanwhile, on Bombshell #3 front, Disney/Marvel announced they finally were willing to release the name of their “Avengers” sequel and it is – cue trumpets – “The Age of Ultron” [release date: May 1, 2015], which is partially based on the recent Avengers supervillain known as Ultron [or Henry Pym, Junior, if you like].

Warner Bros. wasn’t done with movie news either – also announcing that “Flash” flick is scheduled for a 2016 release while a “Justice League” movie is on the docket for 2017.

Legendary Entertainment announced some of their voice cast for “The LEGO Movie” [release date: February 7, 2014] with Channing Tatum voicing Superman, Jonah Hill voicing Green Lantern and Cobie Smulders pulling down Wonder Woman duties.

Some sneak peek footage of the just-filming flick “Guardians of the Galaxy” [release date: August 1, 2014] was shown by Disney/Marvel.

In television news, Naveen Andrews [“Lost”] joins the cast of “Once Upon A Time In Wonderland”, ABC’s Alice in Wonderland-based series which debuts on October 10, 2013. Andrews plays the villainous Jafar and joins a cast that includes John Lithgow and Emma Rigby.

Universal announced they will make a television series out of the “Clone” comic book series for 2014.

Patrick Stewart makes an appearance at Comic-Con 2013 in San Diego as part of the "X-Men: Days of Future Past" panel.

Also coming in Spring 2014 will be a reboot of the classic PBS television series “Cosmos” [hosted by the late Carl Sagan] with a new title – “Cosmos: A SpaceTime Odyssey” to be hosted by Neil deGrasse Tyson and executive produced by Seth MacFarlane and shown on the Fox and National Geographic channels.

Finally, video game “World of Warcraft” has been confirmed as the newest video game to receive the movie treatment [by Legendary Entertainment] and it was announced that Duncan Jones [“Source Code”] would direct the flick which has a 2015 release date.

Comic-Con 2013 concludes today at the San Diego Convention Center on July 21, 2013.
