SDCC2011: New Details and Voice Cast of "Ultimate Spider-Man" Revealed

Jeph Loeb headed up the Marvel TV panel on Saturday at the San Diego Comic-Con. During the panel, Loeb showed the fans in attendance the sizzle reel and official trailer for the new Disney XD animated series, Ultimate Spider-Man. The following voice actors were named for the series:

  • Drake Bell as Peter Parker/Spider-Man
  • Chi McBride as Nick Fury
  • Clark Gregg as Agent Phil Coulson/Principal Coulson
  • Steven Weber as Norman Osborn/The Green Goblin
  • J.K. Simmons as J. Jonah Jameson

The sizzle reel also mentioned that Captain America and Iron Man would both appear as guest stars. The animation clips also showed what looked like the Heroes For Hire including Iron Fist and Power Man/Luke Cage. Slides were also shown of The Amazing Spider-Ham because in one episode Spider-Man will be transformed into Spider-Ham because of a magic spell. Clark Gregg reprises his live action role of Agent Coulson from the Iron Man, Thor, and The Avengers live-action movies; in Ultimate Spider-Man, Agent Coulson will be masquerading as the principal in Peter Parker’s high school. Drake Bell also made an appearance during the panel to talk about the series and how he grew up reading comics and Spider-Man.

Ultimate Spider-Man will be debuting on Disney XD in 2012. Paul Dini wrote the pilot and serves as an executive consultant in addition to Ultimate Spider-Man comics creator, Brian Michael Bendis. Man of Action will be serving as writers, producers, and story editors for the series.
