Warner Bros. might be interested in building an entire feature film around the Looney Tunes character Pepe Le Pew. The news leaked out during the SDCC panel for Dirk Gently’s Holistic Detective Agency, where writer Max Landis admitted the spec script was one of the projects he was working on.

Um. Well. That would certainly be a thing.

Over the last ten years announcements of star vehicles for various Looney Tunes characters have come and gone, most of them sounding horrific. They thought about making a Speedy movie not too long ago. A Marvin the Martian movie got as far as a one-minute demo (it may still be online if you look, but it’s not good). The most ugly idea WB ever had was a live-action Bugs Bunny movie where the titular character would have been CG-rendered like a real rabbit. This was during the height of Alvin and the Chipmunks movies.

Anyway…..90 minutes (at least) of a skunk with non-consensual cross-species love on his mind, sold to a family audience. Good luck with that, Max.
