Show: Ed Edd n Eddy
Episode: #48: “Robbin’ Ed”/”A Case of Ed”
Airdate: TONIGHT, February 6th, at 7 PM (encore at 9:30 PM) ET.
After last week’s only-satisfactory episode of the Ed boys bring us a gem of an episode, if not one of the best Eds episodes to date. If you’re still sitting on the fence about this show, tonight’s episode may be your last chance to really get hooked (unless next week brings an EVEN BETTER episode!).
“Robbin Ed'” introduces the concept of superheroes and supervillains to Ed Edd n Eddy, which you would never expect to see together (at least, I never did). It starts out innocently enough, as one of Eddy’s successful scams is ambushed by a (not so) mysterious avenger who steals Eddy’s earnings and returns them to the kids of the cult-de-sac. In desperation to stop this hero from continuously ruining his plots, Eddy fights fire with fire, and to describe any more of the episode would ruin it for you. Trust me.
“A Case of Ed”, though not as good as “Robbin Ed”, is certainly better than both of last week’s episodes. Here we have Kevin getting grounded and Ed and Eddy taking full advantage of this fact. Meanwhile, they manage to fool Edd into thinking he has a serious and obscure disease. Both plots connect pretty well, and it’s nice to see Kevin bearing the humilation for once in this series.
All of my artistic praise from last week can be repeated with this and all future weeks of the show, so I’ll simply point out things that I liked. There is this hilariously funny scene of Eddy getting an acorn trapped in his mouth and spitting out an entire tree, and the various poses of Edd sick. To be honest, though, you just have to watch for yourself.
It seems like, with the exception of last week, every episode of Ed Edd n Eddy is better than the last. With only 4 more episodes to go, the series will definitely end on a very high note.
