Pokemon Sword and Shield is about to get some new DLC content via The Crown Tundra, the second part of the franchise’s first ever Expansion Pass. The first part, The Isle Of Armor, has already released, while the second part is coming out on the 22nd. This new part of the pass is aiming to give fans some truly unique content, not the least of which is being able to capture every single legendary Pokemon in the history of the franchise via Max Raid Battles.
However, as a recent episode of Pokenchi revealed, things aren’t going to be as simple as just having a Max Raid battle with these Pokemon. Rather, it’ll be a true test of skill and lasting through multiple battles.
According to the episode, you’ll have to face off against three regular Dynamax Pokemon before facing a legendary. However, it should be noted that since this is a “Dynamax Adventure”, you’ll be traveling through areas on a course that you yourself decide. So you’ll get to help choose which way to go and whom to face at every turn.
That right there though hides yet another truth about everything. Because both your HP and your PP won’t be healed every battle. Not unlike out in the regular Pokemon world, it’ll carry over and need to be replenished during the battle in order to carry on at full power.
Furthermore, you can face multiple legendary Pokemon on these adventures, but, you can only capture one per adventure. That being said, you don’t have to worry about a breakout, the capture rate will be 100%.
These rules and stipulations are no doubt meant to enhance the experience, increase the challenge and make sure you go and do multiple adventures. Which you’ll be able to do when The Crown Tundra arrives in a few days.
