When and where is the English version of Pokemon: I Choose You coming out? For the longest time, nobody knew, but we’ve got the answers at last!

Pokemon: I Choose You is a celebration of the anime’s longevity through a cinematic retelling of several events from its first season. This is not an exact adaption and some of the events have been altered from what you remember…most controversially, Brock and Misty have been replaced, there are different Pokemon involved, and also, the first episode didn’t originally end with Ash dying via complete vaporization from a bolt of lightning (he gets better).

The English version of I Choose You WILL be getting a theatrical release, not only in this country but in all English-speaking countries. It’ll be the first Pokemon movie to get a wide cinematic release since 2002’s Pokemon Heroes. You’ll have to be quick about it, though: it’s a Fathom Event that will only last two days. Sunday, November 5, and Monday, November 6 are the days it will screen, and exact locations and times have yet to be settled.

“As an origin story, Pokémon the Movie: I Choose You! is the perfect way for a new generation of Pokémon fans to experience the beginning of Ash and Pikachu’s friendship, and it offers longtime fans an exciting new look into the start of their epic adventures,” said Colin Palmer, vice president of marketing at The Pokémon Company International. “We’re excited to work with Fathom Events, whose expertise in unique theatrical event activations will offer families and fans the opportunity to come together and experience the excitement of Pokémon animation on the big screen.”

The adventure begins anew this November when Pokemon: I Choose You is released worldwide. An English trailer should appear in the near future, but until then, here’s the US poster for the film…
