The Oakland Museum of California will showcase over 500 works of art by Pixar Animation artists as part of PIXAR: 25 Years of Animation, the museum announced today.
The exhibit will feature concept drawings, sketches, paintings, maquettes, storyboards, and colorscripts from its feature-length and short films. The museum will also host two special media installations: Artscape, an immersive, wide-screen projection of digital images, and Toy Story Zoetrope, a three-dimensional device that creates the illusion of movement by rapidly displaying a succession of images.
The exhibits opens on July 31 and runs through January 9, 2011.
