Today Activision unveiled Guitar Hero Live, the new updated revival of the mid-2000s video game sensation, at a special event in New York City. Several musicians and other notaries were there on hand to monkey around with the new peripheral, and Activision provided photographic evidence.
This is Rob “Gronk” Gronkowsky of Super Bowl fame, trying out the Guitar Hero Live demo station provided by the event. Gronk said he wanted a kiosk like this for his teammates on the tour bus, but it remains to be seen if he can throw that kind of clout around.
This would be Pete Wentz, trying out the trampoline in the middle of the room. There are several photos of people doing this. The purpose of the trampoline was to pose for a “crowd dive” that would be superimposed on a green screen, which was off-camera.
While he was there, Weitz said something about wanting to name his new single “Uma Thurman,” yeah, okay, makes sense. But he was apparently serious and had to get her permission to do so. He plans to debut the song at the Billboard Music Awards.
Vanessa Hudgens appeared in flowered form to give the game a try. She claimed obsession with the original Guitar Hero and then compared hand sizes with Gronk.
Gronk with Kansas City Chiefs running back Jamaal Charles. Charles spent most of his time at New York’s Best Buy Theater playing the game, trying to beat whatever score he had on top currently.
And this is…..a box. It was in the photo pile for some reason.
