PAX West: The First 20 Minutes Of Final Fantasy 15 Pocket Edition

pocket edition

Ever since Final Fantasy 15 Pocket Edition was announced, people have wondered: just how much of the game is in there? Is it a “Greatest Hits” medley or do you get everything?

If Square’s demo from PAX West is to be believed, this is apparently a remake of the entire game, just with cuter, easier-to-render graphics for the mainstream machines it’s built to run on. This is a keen way for Square to expand its audience for what is currently the biggest game they sell.

The first 20 minutes from the demo have been posted online, and they’re pretty much the first 20 minutes from the console game. If you haven’t played Final Fantasy 15 yet, this leaves you with a choice: do you play now and go with grounded and realistic graphics, or do you wait for the visuals that have more personality? The choice is yours.

Final Fantasy 15: Pocket Edition is coming later this year for Windows PCs and phones, but reps at Square have hinted they’re looking into a Switch version. It will be released in ten parts, with the first chapter being free.

The FINAL FANTASY XV POCKET EDITION for iOS, Android and Windows 10 devices, to be released later this year, is an all-new adventure that retells the beloved story of FINAL FANTASY XV, giving fans and newcomers alike the freedom to journey through Eos whenever and from wherever they want. The mobile game features the main characters and story of the console version and newly-announced FINAL FANTASY XV WINDOWS EDITION, with an adorable art style and casual touch controls optimized for mobile devices. The main story is told across ten thrilling episodes, with all ten episodes available at launch and the first episode downloadable for free.
