The Los Angeles Times reports that with the success of the two Alvin & the Chipmunks movies, another cartoon character is planning to make a big comeback: Mighty Mouse.
Paramount Pictures and its Nickelodeon Movies label is planning to bring the classic Terrytoons star to the big screen. The new film will deal with the classic cartoon hero in a modern world. No writer or director has been chosen for the project.
Mighty Mouse has been a staple of Saturday morning cartoons from the 1950s with The Mighty Mouse Playhouse to the 70s with Filmation’s The New Adventures of Mighty Mouse and Heckle & Jeckle, and the 80s with Ralph Baskhi’s Mighty Mouse: The New Adventures.
