Remember when we assumed The CW had no plans to put out a trailer for their Constantine cartoon yet? We were thankfully wrong. Care to check it out?
This is just terrific. The artists behind these CW Seed shorts got to work to the full limits of their talent here — a lot more is going on visually than there was in their Vixen shorts. Constantine steps into an abandoned church, five grotesque monsters approach him announcing their plans to slay him, and then this mummy shows up…to say more would ruin the experience.
There is more Constantine news: people wondering if his new animated appearance would be coupled with a new live-action appearance were correct. His minor role in the upcoming season of Legends of Tomorrow (which begins, fittingly, tomorrow) was confirmed by showrunner Phil Klemmer, who ran down a laundry list of the zany occurrences viewers are in for: “We get to do a little Amblin alien episode back in the ’80s; we do some Jack the Ripper Victorian London; Golden Age of Hollywood; John Constantine doing an exorcism.”
So there you have it. John Constantine is far from dead even if he hangs around creatures from the afterlife a lot. The animated Constantine will premiere on The CW Seed sometime this season.
