NYCC 2016: Here’s The Real Iron Fist Trailer

Yesterday Netflix released a teaser for Iron Fist that showed the cover to latest issue of his comic book being created one step at a time. We wondered if there was going to be more, and today our suspicions were confirmed. Our first glimpse at Marvel’s Iron Fist was released today at NYCC.

Iron Fist (aka Danny Rand) is the “last Defender” as the trailer shouts: the final superhero we’ll meet before all four team up in The Defenders one year from now. But unlike Daredevil, Jessica Jones and Luke Cage, Mr. Rand works his heroics in a different part of New York…the more upscale part. He’s Stark-scale rich, but he’s also the master of a magical fighting style learned in the city of K’un-Lun (where he resided for several years following a personal tragedy).

Finn Jones, who plays Iron Fist, told EW “What really drew me was the character and the story. I really enjoy how he’s a superhero with a real heart but has spiritual elements as well. I think it’s going to be an exciting character to play because there’s this contraction of on one hand he’s from a very wealthy family, he’s a billionaire, on the other hand he’s been in this world of K’un-Lun for a long time where he’s learned kung fu and buddhist philosophy. There’s a contradiction in those elements that’s going to be really fun to play.”

Iron Fist smashes his way to Netflix March 17, 2017. Here’s your first look…
