Nioh 2 Arrives On Friday The 13th

Friday the 13th already has many superstitions attached to it so the arrival of action role-playing game “Nioh 2” for PlayStation 4 on Friday, March 13, 2020, should not affect any of those already in existence.

Set in the 1500’s, “Nioh 2” is ostensibly a vaguely honorific homage to the Toyotomi Hideyoshi [a feudal lord regarded as Japan’s great unifier during the rambunctious samurai battling years] and acts as a prequel to its video game predecessor, “Nioh” [which was launched in 2017]. Similar to its predecessor, players create their own playable character, named Hide, who was a yokai spirit – a type of supernatural monster from Japanese folklore – and you will likely find it fruitful to listen to the wanderer, Tokichiro, you bump into early in the game. Players will be equipped with a variety of weapons including swords and hatchets which can help them earn new skills as they progress in the game.

Enemies can be big imposing and gleaming samurai warriors or they can be owls in the dark or human-like creatures who emerge from cracks and from behind objects – nearly all of whom have many abilities to kill you lurking within their outward appearances. When players defeat a hostile yōkai spirit, some of them may drop “Soul Cores”. This will allow players to use yōkai abilities and transform into a yōkai after they are deposited in a shrine. At locations named “Benevolent Graves”, players can summon at most two avatars of other players, controlled by artificial intelligence, to assist them in combat. The game also features a three-player co-op multi-player mode.
