A new Nintendo Direct Mini was sprung today that was VERY heavy on surprise day-of releases. This was the last Nintendo Direct Mini Partner Showcase scheduled for 2020 (that doesn’t mean a regular-sized Mini can’t happen within the next two months). But we wouldn’t expect any surprise games between now and New Year’s. The timing is too tight, even for Nintendo…what you see is what you get.

Hyrule Warriors: Age Of Calamity Demo — today
This is the one everybody is going to be downloading. It contains the entire first chapter of the game, and your save will count toward the complete version (which comes out November 20).

Part Time UFO — today
A puzzle game from HAL Labs, previously released on mobile…you are a UFO who makes its bread by lifting heavy objects with its crane and stacking them. The more neat and tidy your stacks, the better your score.

No More Heroes and No More Heroes 2 — today
They’ve been ported to the Switch in anticipation of No More Heroes 3, due out sometime in 2021. If you can handle offensive humor, give ’em a try.

Control Ultimate Edition Cloud Version — today
Hitman 3 Cloud Version — 2021
The Switch can run Control and Hitman 3? ….Not exactly. It’ll be interesting to see how these games sell on the platform, because they are NOT physical products — the graphics are crunched through cloud computing (as the name implies) before they’re displayed on your screen. This means this version of Control cannot work without an Internet connection, and when you dig out your old Switch in twenty years to relive old memories, this is the one game that won’t work. Our advice: Buy it on something else.

Bakugan: Champions of Vestroia — November 3
(if you have to choose between playing Bakugan and voting, please vote)

Tropico 6 — November 6

Immortals: Fenyx Rising — December 3

Bravely Default II: February 26, 2021
You played the demo, you gave Square feedback, and they’ve adjusted the game based on what you demanded. The full details regarding what they changed are in the video above. Preorders are open now on the eShop.

Story of Seasons: Pioneers of Olive Town — March 23, 2021
As we try to point out every single time, this is Harvest Moon. The franchise lost the rights to the name when it switched publishers. Harvest Moon also continued on its own, but as a zombie.

Surviving: The Aftermath — Spring 2021

Griftlands: Nintendo Switch Edition — Summer 2021

The next major Switch release hits in two days with the release of Pikmin 3 Deluxe on October 30.
