Marvel and Disney continue their creative and fun comic collaborations with yet another, new What If…? title, which transports classic Disney characters into the Marvel Universe. Following the Donald Duck lead comics with him transforming into the likes of Wolverine or Thor, this time Minnie Mouse becomes Captain Marvel in the all-new one-shot “What If…? Minnie Became Captain Marvel #1”, scheduled to release in November.
This new book puts a Disney-like spin on the classic superhero origin of Carol Danvers as originally told in the late 1970s, in the pages of “Ms. Marvel #1-4”. As most readers should know, Carol started out as Ms. Marvel before being “promoted” to the rank of Captain Marvel around the year 2012. Using this identity the character has also made her live-action debut in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. The current Ms. Marvel is a different character altogether, but that is a story for another time.
“What If…? Minnie Became Captain Marvel #1” features the talents of writers Steve Behling and Luca Barbieri along with artist Giada Perissinotto, with others like Phil Noto, Peach Momoko, and Elena Casagrande also doing variant covers for the issue.
