Star Wars Rebels has received a new video released and posted on StarWars.com to promote the sci-fi action adventure series ahead of San Diego Comic Con this week. The “extended trailer” mixes footage from the 60-second trailer released in May with brand new footage and spoken dialogue, including narration from a certain character from the Star Wars films fans will be very familiar with. This series takes place in the years leading up to Star Wars Episode IV: A New Hope, during a time when the Galactic Empire is expanding and consolidating its power across the galaxy while the beginning of rebellion against its rule gets underway.
Star Wars Rebels will premiere on television at a still-unannounced date this October with a one-hour special on the Disney channel, after which it will be regularly televised on Disney XD. The series is helmed by executive producers Dave Filoni, Simon Kinberg (X-Men: First Class, Sherlock Holmes, Mr. & Mrs. Smith) and Greg Weisman (Gargoyles, Young Justice, The Spectacular Spider-Man).
