Variety reports that Prof. Stephen Hawking and Nerd Corps Entertainment are developing a new animated series based on the George Greenby series of books written by Hawking and his daughter Lucy Hawking. The series will focus on the title character, an 11-year old boy, and his best friend Annie Bellis and their supercomputer-with-an-attitude Cosmos, as they explore the universe and travel through space and time to learn about science and physics. Nerd Corps is planning 26 half-hour episodes, with additional development for other platforms. Pure Grass Films will be the executive producers, co-financers, and distributors for several territories.
