My Hero Academia Movie, My Hero Academia World Heroes Mission

It’s a good time to be an anime fan, especially if you’re a fan of My Hero Academia. Because the fifth season of the beloved anime has just launched (in its Japanese form, the Dubbed version will arrive later) and fans are already liking what they’re seeing. But, just as important is that the first teaser trailer for the third movie in the MHA line has been dropped. The third movie will be called “World Heroes Mission” will release later this year.

The trailer, which was released at Anime Japan 2021, showcases a lot of things, but the larger thing to note here is that this particular My Hero Academia movie will feature Deku, Bakugou and Shoto Todoroki being brought into a crime-fighting group to go and stop a threat that is clearly worldly in scale. Though who this group is or the villain they’re fighting isn’t known at this time. They’re keeping many details very close to the chest.

There are several things that can be parsed from the trailer though. For example, the new costumes that the “Three Musketeers” are wearing are from the super group that they’re joining. What’s more, something clearly goes wrong in the mission because there’s a still of Deku being accused of “mass murder” and thus wanted by authorities.

It makes sense that this third movie would go and feature a more worldly threat. The first movie in the line, “Two Heroes” focused more on Deku learning more about the past life of All Might. The second movie, “Heroes Rising” saw Class 1-A come together to try and take on a villain that could’ve wiped out all of Japan, and so now, they’re dealing with a global threat.

Though it does need to be stated that more than likely this story won’t be referenced in the TV version of the anime as the “canon-nature” of the movies has been brought into question multiple times.

Still, it’ll be interesting to see this new My Hero Academia movie when it arrives.
